Local Legends - Leadership Breakfast November 2026

About this event

From Building Businesses to Building Opportunities: A Conversation with Rich Dowdican

What does it really take to build a business from the ground up, grow it into an industry leader, and know when it's time for your next big move?

Join us Friday, November 20, 2026, for another Local Legends Leadership Breakfast featuring Albuquerque entrepreneur and business leader Rich Dowdican .

Rich has spent more than 25 years building businesses, leading teams, making big decisions, and creating opportunities right here in New Mexico.

As a founder and former President and CEO of HME Specialists, Rich helped grow the company into an industry leader employing approximately 500 New Mexicans. Along the way, he navigated acquisitions, major financial decisions, and ultimately the sale of the company.

But retirement didn't mean slowing down.

Today, Rich continues to build through ventures including Home Modification Solutions, Homes for Life, and Restoration Pizza, where creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with and without disabilities is part of the mission.

And that's just part of the story.

From the boardroom to the State Capitol, from growing companies to giving back to the community, Rich has learned a few things about leadership, relationships, taking risks, and knowing when to make a move.

At Local Legends, we're going beyond the professional bio to hear the real stories, the tough lessons, the wins, and the decisions that helped shape his journey.

No long lectures. No sales pitches. Just real conversations with people who have been there, done that, and have a few stories worth sharing.

Come for breakfast. Make some new connections. Leave with a few ideas that might just change how you think about business and leadership.
