Atrisco Memorial Forum 4

About this event

Bernalillo County Open Space is planning an Atrisco Memorial—a physical space dedicated to the heritage of the Atrisco land grant and to the people who call the South Valley home. The Center for Social Sustainable Systems (CESOSS) has been tasked to convene the local community and to ensure that its voice and ideas are heard and influence the memorial's design. Nothing has been designed yet. We want Atrisco's communities to speak first.

This Rio Grande High School Forum is the last of four taking place this fall season. Anyone is welcome to any of the four forums (Oct. 8, 21, 28, and Nov. 4-- see CESOSS event webpage here for full details ). However, the focus of this fourth community forum is on the students, their parents, staff, faculty of the high school, as the memorial will be built right across the school. Moreover, students will be invited to participate not only in the design of the memorial (like all forum participants) but also in its elaboration once an artist has been selected to work with the students.

Please register so we can order enough snacks and refreshments. Registration is not required. You are welcome whether or not you sign up, and you are welcome to bring someone. CESOSS is proudly working alongside Anthropopulus Design + Planning and Working Classroom . Questions?

5:00 – 5:30 pm - Welcome + Introduction

6:15 – 7:30 pm - Resolana/Open Forum

• Anyone can speak for 2-5 minutes, sign-up is first come first serve at the welcome table.

7:30 – 8 pm - Q & A

• Ask CESOSS questions about the forums to come, how the data shared at this forum will inform design, and/or the Atrisco Memorial
