About this event
El Hechizo —“the spell” or “enchantment” brings together more than 20 artists from Northern New Mexico to explore the region’s folklore and los cuentos : the stories passed through generations and carried into the present.
Moving beyond familiar images of the Southwest, the exhibition considers culture as a living archive shaped by land, ancestry, labor, faith, language and lived experience. Through their work, the artists honor and reinterpret the histories and stories rooted in the villages of Nuevo México.
Join us for the opening reception on Friday, November 6, from 5–9 PM , in conjunction with ABQ Artwalk. Enjoy music by Felix Los Gatos and a pop-up cocktail bar.
Listed by Secret Gallery (Squarespace), gathered by the Albuquerque events calendar.
