Location: Pine Flat Picnic Area using USFS and Open space lands.

Time: First starts at 11am.

Parking location: Pine Flat Picnic Area. 35.0145, -106.3367. There is a recent parking fee; either $5 or an "America the Beautiful" pass.

This is an opportunity to learn about radio orienteering in advance of NMO hosting the 26th USA radio orienteering championships in June of 2027.

We have a limited number of loaner radio receivers. For the training there will be two start opportunities with space for 5 individuals/groups each, and a course time limit of 2 hours. This will allow time for the first group to return so the loaner receivers can be used by the 2nd start group.

The first start group will be at 11 AM and the 2nd start group will be at 1PM. Registration will be online here: https://eventreg.orienteeringusa.org/register/info/pineflatradioo2026 .

Courses provided:

Radio-O Course. Find as up to 5 Radio transmitters/controls using a Map and Receiver. Different than traditional orienteering, so instruction and receiver equipment will be provided.

Event fees are $10 for NMO members and $15 for nonmembers.
