Devotion : a solo-project by Christine Sullivan

About this event

Dissecting, deconstructing and re-examining, Sullivan scrutinizes how consumerism, institutions, and systems of power shape collective thought and behavior. Her work re-imagines ubiquitous symbols and logos that permeate everyday Western life while taking a closer look at how these shape societal wellness. Also, using Semiotics and language as a subject and employing devices of repetition, the work questions ideas of indoctrination, brand loyalty, propaganda and dedication. Considering the history of organized religion and the complicated stratums ‘devotion’ asks of us, Sullivan attempts to make the invisible, visible.
