- ➤ Route 66 Remixed offers a self-guided immersive experience that transforms the historic route into an art-fueled road trip (using digital art and poetry) available at Route66Remixed.com. The project celebrates 100 years of Route 66 with 18 public art installations and local poems about Albuquerque’s history. KOAT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UNM has reappointed Ellen Fisher as vice president for research for a new five-year term, effective Feb. 1, recognizing her role in expanding research efforts and cross-disciplinary initiatives (ARID and QNM-I). Interim Provost Barbara Rodriguez praised Fisher’s leadership in strengthening research at UNM. University of New Mexico
- ➤ UNM renewed its Carnegie Elective Classification for Community Engagement, recognizing its strong ties with local communities and research partnerships. (The renewal, valid until 2032, reflects projects in environmental studies, education, and engineering that benefit the region.) University of New Mexico
- ➤ APS reported that clear backpacks issued at six middle schools began falling apart days after distribution; at Cleveland Middle School, 38 students already received replacements + 23 more are set to get new bags, and APS is reviewing alternative vendors for improved quality. Albuquerque Journal
