- ➤ The Albuquerque Theatre Guild will hold its 2nd Annual Orley Awards, a ceremony honoring the city’s theatre community. The event is set for Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the South Broadway Cultural Center (1025 Broadway Blvd. SE) and features expanded awards categories to celebrate local talent. The Paper.

- ➤ The University of New Mexico has opened nominations for the 2026 Paul Ré Peace Prize to honor community members who promote harmony & peace through innovative projects. - ➤ Local homeowners can lower heating bills by setting thermostats from 68°F to 70°F when home & reducing them 7°F to 10°F when away, which may save 10% on annual costs; checking for drafts with an incense test can cut energy loss by up to 30%. KOAT

- ➤ The New Mexico House approved seven interstate compact bills on Wednesday to expand access to health care by allowing professionals to work across state lines — a change that may be revised in the Senate before Feb. 19. - ➤ In December, Presbyterian Health Plan gave $204,000 to lawmakers to support its push for reforming the medical malpractice system due to high insurance costs and a growing doctor shortage.
