- ➤ Delilah Montoya’s retrospective exhibit Activating Chicana Resistance opens Saturday at the Albuquerque Museum, showcasing over four decades of art that blends photography, printmaking + installation art and explores themes of Chicanismo with an opening talk at 2 p.m.; the exhibit runs through May 3. - ➤ Hundreds of Lobos filled the Roundhouse on Wednesday for UNM Day, where faculty, staff & students met with lawmakers to review funding priorities including a new School of Medicine building and campus enhancements. - ➤ UNM Grand Challenges issued an RFP for Level 2 teams to solve community problems. Researchers can attend a session on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 12:30 p.m. at PAIS room 1010 (or Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 12 p.m. via Zoom) with teams receiving up to $200,000 support over two years. - ➤ Adrian Faust, a senior in UNM's computer science program, received an honorable mention for the CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award sponsored by Sandia National Laboratories (and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory). - ➤ New Mexico lawmakers will debate Senate Bill 18 (Clear Horizons Act) in the Senate Taxation, Business and Transportation committee on Saturday as climate groups call for required emissions reductions for major stationary polluters, with targets set at 45% by 2030, 75% by 2040 and net-zero by 2050.
