- ➤ The Duke City Lowrider Bike Program is teaching grades 6 to 12 to build custom bikes+skateboards+guitars as local mentors guide hands on projects. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ New Mexico’s revenue collections are below forecasts and may force state officials to tap extra cash reserves if lower personal and corporate tax collections persist, causing an expected 2.8% drop from last fiscal year+analysts note that a slowing economy contributes to the shortfall. - ➤ State revenue collections are tracking $166.6 million below projections due to slow personal and corporate income taxes and could fall nearly $380 million short by June, which may force officials to draw on reserve funds + a legislative finance report said the trend is driven by a slowing economy. - ➤ Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a package of education bills that boost literacy & math instruction, create an Office of Special Education, and improve teacher benefits.
