  • The Rio Grande Blue Star Mothers (now in their 21st year) spent Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Center preparing 200 care packages filled with food, hygiene items, and supportive messages to be sent overseas for servicemen and women.  KOAT

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Kit Carson Electric Cooperative is using AI, drones & microgrids to map wildfire risks in northern New Mexico as dry spring conditions loom. The pilot program with Firescape now guides plans for focused tree trimming and community microgrid projects amid recent funding changes.  Albuquerque Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PNM is in Wildfire Safety Mode today as high winds may force a power shutoff watch in Las Vegas and trigger a power advisory in Santa Fe. Customers are advised to treat downed power lines as live & call 911 if needed.  KOAT
  • Consultants recommended a sports stadium as part of a master plan to redevelop the 236-acre state fairgrounds, and New Mexico United is seen as a potential anchor tenant. Officials clarified that no final decision has been made on using the $70M discretionary funding (highlighting ongoing debate).  Albuquerque Journal
