- ➤ The University of New Mexico’s Division of Student Affairs will host a Professional Development Day on Wednesday, April 2 to help staff learn new ways to manage stress and balance work and life. - ➤ The University of New Mexico said it will cooperate with the federal investigation into alleged race-exclusionary practices involving its partnership with a nonprofit that supports minority PhD candidates—officials said the school is reviewing its ties and will prepare a formal response soon. - ➤ ABQ Ride delivered 7.3 million rides in 2024 and nearly reached 80% of its pre-COVID levels, showing an increase of 390,000 rides over 2023 and more than 1 million compared to 2022. - ➤ New Mexico will create a Turquoise Alert system as Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham plans to sign Senate Bill 41 to help locate missing Native Americans. The law — modeled after similar systems in Colorado, California and Washington — will send alerts when someone enrolled in or eligible for a federally or state-recognized tribe is reported missing under suspicious circumstances.
