- ➤ The ABQ Artwalk, now in its eighth year, brings local artists, vendors and performers together downtown for an event running today from 5 to 9 p.m. Organizers plan expanded outdoor performances this summer + the event continues to strengthen community ties. The Paper.
- ➤ After eight months of renovations, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science will reopen Saturday with a fresh gift shop, new exhibits including Animal Armor, and free shows in its planetarium and Verus Research DynaTheater during a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony. KUNM

- ➤ The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions kicked off its annual Heroes Hiring Heroes event in Las Cruces on Wednesday, Apr. 1, connecting veterans with local employers. The event will also be held in Farmington, Alamogordo, Roswell and Albuquerque each week in April. Source NM

- ➤ The University of New Mexico will host UNM Big Give on Thursday, Apr. 9, a 24-hour event that will unite alumni, staff + supporters to boost education, research and patient care. Donors can contribute online and at special campus events. University of New Mexico
- ➤ UNM’s six-year project on human centered cyber physical systems wrapped up after live demos at Purdue (quadrotor landing, UAV rescue, haptic driving simulator) showcased algorithms that help autonomous systems interact with users. - ➤ The UNM Office of Sustainability is hosting Earth Month events from April 8 to April 30, beginning with the GPSA Green Workforce Fair in the Student Union Atrium and including campus clean-ups, a Sustainability Expo, and a film screening. - ➤ Thursday brought windy and dry conditions with red flag warnings in eastern counties—warning residents that any fire could spread quickly, while temperatures in Albuquerque warmed into the 70s. A cold front passed through Thursday night and no rain is expected until early next week. KOAT

- ➤ City zoning official Robert Lucero denied petitions for a gas station and convenience store at Carlisle Boulevard and Indian School Road after more than 400 local residents raised concerns about traffic, pollution, and redundant services; Maverik can appeal the decision by April 16. The Paper.
