CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two years after 82-year-old Juneanne Fannell was shot in her Rio Rancho home by her caretaker, her estate filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Rio Rancho Police Department—along with the city and Adult Protective Services—for ignoring clear warning signs, while Cardana pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and is serving a six-year sentence. - ➤ On Tuesday, New Mexico State Police responded to a shooting at 5 Prairie Hill Road in Las Vegas when a verbal argument between 20 year old Trevor Szalai and 21 year old Cody Ramone escalated, resulting in Szalai being fatally shot & Ramone being arrested on second degree murder charges as police said the investigation remains ongoing. - ➤ Two Albuquerque men and a Mexican national were sentenced to federal prison for a 2023 smuggling attempt that ended with a crash which killed two migrants in southern New Mexico. Albuquerque Journal
- ➤ The Albuquerque Police Department arrested a suspect after a stabbing on April 4th at Jim McDowell Road near Atrisco Vista Boulevard NW — the victim sustained only superficial injuries. KOAT

- ➤ Contemporary dance company BODYTRAFFIC traveled from Los Angeles to perform at Popejoy Hall on April 4.
