  • A new report shows pedestrian fatalities in Albuquerque fell from 50 to 43 in 2025, following safety projects like a $5 million investment on Central and a new driver behavior campaign — Mayor Tim Keller said further measures will be enacted to keep the momentum in reducing deaths.  Albuquerque Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • A Las Cruces family donated the kidney of 13-year-old Chris Carnero to Albuquerque native Sam Burgess, who underwent a life-saving transplant on his birthday, April 10, in Minnesota; he is in stable condition and is expected to return home later this month.  Albuquerque Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Lobos played a three-game series versus the Nevada Wolf Pack from April 17-19 at Santa Ana Star Field, winning a 9-7 game to avoid a sweep. Head coach Tod Brown said the team will face Colorado State Pueblo tomorrow (April 21) and aims to improve early play.  New Mexico Daily Lobo
