- ➤ New Mexico schools are using the Amira AI reading program today for mandatory early literacy tests, yet some teachers report issues with accents and background noise that cause student frustration. Administrators say the program offers personalized practice and promise tweaks to improve its accuracy (especially for speech challenges). Albuquerque Journal
- ➤ The inaugural Lobo Venture Capital Cup awarded up to $36,000 to student teams for their startup and investment skills in a six-week competition that concluded recently in Albuquerque. - ➤ On April 24, UNM hosted its Campus Clean Up as part of Earth Month, where about 50 volunteers gathered on campus after being served coffee and burritos and helped pick up trash, pull weeds, and spread mulch (including near the Spanish Dancers outside of Popejoy) to improve the campus environment.
