- ➤ A free outdoor concert series returns to Winrock Town Center starting May 29 at Sunward Amphitheater (Winrock Park). The series features live local and regional music along with a night market, and it runs through July 24 before pausing to resume Sept. 11. KOAT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A legislative analyst, Saraí Ortiz, recommended NM lawmakers update school AI policies last Wednesday in Raton — suggesting clearer rules on data privacy, curriculum and tribal sovereignty to guide the use of AI in classrooms. Lawmakers are expected to review proposals as research into AI's benefits and risks grows. Source NM
- ➤ Pueblos, tribes and nations in New Mexico will receive $90 million over fiscal years 2026 through 2028 to support cultural education programs, including language courses and cultural site visits. The funds follow recent changes to the Public Education Department’s Administrative Code and aim to boost Native student outcomes. Source NM

- ➤ At Sunport, TSA has launched a touchless ID kiosk for pre-check that lets flyers verify their identity quickly without boarding passes or IDs. - ➤ City officials released one-year results for Albuquerque’s Guaranteed Basic Income pilot program, showing that 59 families and 42 youth improved their financial stability after receiving $750 monthly since April 2025 (some even became homeowners), though council members debated extending funding past May.
