  • Sky 7 is airing live footage of the 'No Kings Day' protest in Albuquerque as demonstrations continue across the state — the network captured scenes near Mariposa Basin Park and updated its coverage yesterday at 1:35 p.m.  KOAT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Charla Orozco and Alejandra Villalobos Melendez have been chosen as Strategic Data Project fellows by Harvard University—an 18-month program that kicks off with an orientation in Cambridge at the end of July. Orozco will work to improve UNM's data systems and Villalobos Melendez will study enrollment trends for Indigenous students—efforts set to boost student support at their campuses.  University of New Mexico

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Construction begins on Monday, June 16 at the Central Crossing Bridge on Central Avenue and First Street as part of the seven-mile Rail Trail project in downtown Albuquerque. The 10-month project will alter bus routes, limit vehicle turns and restrict pedestrian access near the Transportation Center—city officials say the new bridge will create a safer and more direct crossing over the train tracks.  Sandoval Signpost
