- ➤ American Airlines will add nonstop flights (from Charlotte and Philadelphia) to Albuquerque Sunport for Balloon Fiesta on October 3, 4, 5, 10, 12 and 13 while Delta Airlines announced nonstop service (from Detroit and Seattle) for the event. Officials say the flights will help meet high demand for guests heading to Balloon Fiesta Park from October 4 to 12. KOAT

- ➤ Residents in Four Hills said they spent Fourth of July dodging danger from illegal fireworks when flaming debris landed on roofs and decks—forcing neighbors to call for stronger law enforcement and the use of drone surveillance to catch violators. KOAT
- ➤ Bernalillo County DA Sam Bregman answered questions about youth crime during an update and said that juvenile crime has become out of control and calls for tougher laws. He added that law enforcement and the governor support changing the juvenile code—so that young offenders face real consequences. KOAT

- ➤ Rio Rancho Public Schools are working to absorb a $780,000 loss in federal aid after payments paused on June 30 — district leaders will shift funds to support English learners, teacher training and student programs as no timeline was given for releasing the money. Sandoval Signpost

- ➤ After just a week of opening, the ADA Sensory Trail is closed due to flooding damage at the Tijeras Arroyo Bio-Zone Education Center where visitors learn about local ecology—City officials say repairs are underway and the trail will reopen as soon as it is safe. KOAT

- ➤ Land grant community leaders and state emergency managers met with lawmakers Tuesday in Las Vegas to ask for more state support for disaster preparedness after wildfires and floods. - ➤ ICE's increased presence has worried residents and split opinions in the mayoral race. Former U.S. Attorney Alex Uballez said that both mayor Tim Keller’s tipline plan and challenger Darren White’s call to end it were not enough—he proposed 11 new policies and noted that early voting begins October 18 with seven candidates running.
