Casa de Cultura presents its third annual Zoot Suit Styles exhibit on Aug.

Kei & Molly Textiles, a local business that makes recycled products, offered three $500 scholarships to college-bound first generation immigrant students from Highland High School amid cuts to education funding.

On Wednesday, UNM staff and faculty volunteered at the Collaborative Teaching and Learning Building to register nearly 400 new students after a tragic death on campus last week led to a suspension of orientation following a shooting—volunteers from various campus departments assisted both in-person and online to ensure students left with a class schedule.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is expected to call lawmakers back to the Roundhouse in late August or September to review federal policy cuts to Medicaid and proposals to ban federal immigration detention centers—she aims to help those in need.

Lawmakers will also talk about bills to change juvenile justice rules and state mental health laws.
