- ➤ A 48-year-old man, Dustin Lee Smith, damaged his neighbor's property and drove his truck at officers on Saturday after a call reported a broken window and camera — he faces charges of assaulting police officers, property damage, reckless driving and aggravated driving under the influence. KOAT
- ➤ An alleged bank robber who stole over $140,000 from four banks in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho was caught after his order for Dion’s pizza tipped off detectives. Albuquerque Journal

- ➤ A huge turnout on Sunday showed how much local families value the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science as it closed for its first major renovation in 40 years. The museum will be closed for 7 months and is set to reopen next year (a key time for community connection). KOAT
- ➤ A 6-year-old lar gibbon named Polaris joined the BioPark and Zoo — where he quickly became friends with Siena, the only other gibbon at the facility. Primate curator Josephine Frentzel said Polaris is active and friendly — a welcome addition as the zoo continues efforts to protect endangered species amid threats from poaching, illegal pet trade and habitat loss.
