- ➤ Advocates in Albuquerque are urging tougher bike safety measures after Kayla Vanlandingham was hit and killed on July 22 at a bike crossing on Carlisle Blvd—city officials plan to add hawk signal crossings while a Monday accident at the same crossing shows cyclists face real danger, with Vanlandingham being the ninth biking fatality reported in New Mexico this year.
