- ➤ New Mexico’s Public Education Department shared its initial $5.09 billion FY27 budget request at a meeting in Gallup — the plan focuses on teacher recruitment and training even though it leaves out extra compensation and parts of a court-ordered equity plan. - ➤ The University of New Mexico’s Schwoebel Lab received a $1.56 million NIH award to build a new 3D mammography system that uses a stationary multi-X-ray source to reduce scan times and lower costs.
