ECONOMY NEWS

  • Sandoval County commissioners approved an economic development agreement for Project Ranger, a proposed hypersonic rocket plant in Rio Rancho Estates, and a grant agreement for road construction—this deal designates the county as the fiscal agent for $10 million in incentives. Officials say the project could serve as a model for future conservation efforts along the river.  Albuquerque Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The government shutdown has reduced staffing at the National Park Service and halted key work, which advocates say may lower park quality and visitor safety. Former park official Bob Krumenaker, who worked in New Mexico, warned that planned cuts of 272 jobs could leave parks with skeleton crews—raising concerns about conservation and revenue.  KUNM
