- ➤ UNM professor Nora Wendl wrote a memoir titled 'Almost Nothing: Reclaiming Edith Farnsworth' that retells the true story behind the iconic Farnsworth House—highlighting Edith Farnsworth’s role in its creation. The book launch will be held Monday at 5 p.m. at George Pearle Hall on the UNM campus. KUNM
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Starting November 1, New Mexico will offer free child care to every family, but officials say there are not enough centers to care for all children, especially babies in rural areas + a $12.7 million fund and a planned request for another $20 million aim to boost new centers and raise pay for workers. State leaders say these steps will help ease the capacity shortage and improve care quality. KUNM
- ➤ UNM’s Compliance, Ethics and Equal Opportunity office will host Compliance Week from Nov. 3–7 as part of a national initiative to promote ethics and accountability. The week will feature a Campus Block Party on Nov. 3 at 11:30 a.m.—with food trucks and music—a compliance movie screening on Nov. 6 at the Student Union Building Theater, and the ACE Awards Reception on Nov. 7 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the University Club.
