- ➤ Lerner and Rowe distributed 1,000 free Thanksgiving meal packages at Expo New Mexico on Friday starting at 4 p.m.—the service continued until all packages were given out. The law firm also provided over 5,600 free meals nationwide this year. KOAT

- ➤ The University of New Mexico marks National Native American Heritage Month this November by honoring Native traditions, languages and cultural contributions through a range of educational events—initiatives include programs from American Indian Student Services and the Department of Native American Studies. - ➤ The UNM Board of Regents is seeking views from faculty, staff, students, and community members to help shape the leadership profile for choosing the next president. The board will hold listening sessions (Nov. 18 at the Student Union Building and Nov. 19 at the Domenici Education Center North Room) and a broader community session on Nov. 17, and it formed a Presidential Search Advisory Committee (including members from across the university) to guide the process. - ➤ Rio Rancho Public Schools approved an $80 million bond Tuesday that will let students learn in modernized buildings with improved safety features and athletic facilities beginning next year. The bond funds include $18 million for a STEAM magnet school at Rio Rancho Elementary, $7 million for turf upgrades, and $17 million for a new pre-kindergarten center — all to be released in phases over four years without raising property taxes.
