HEALTH NEWS

  • Mass layoffs at the CDC disrupted its Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System last spring, leaving researchers and state health officials worried about data reliability for maternal and infant care. SPORTS NEWS

  • UNM extended head football coach Jason Eck—who led the Lobos to a 9-3 season—to a new five-year contract that raises his salary to $1.75 million and keeps him at UNM through the 2030 season; the team now looks ahead to a bowl game that could secure its first 10-win season since 1982.  KOAT
  • On November 28, the UNM Lobos beat the SDSU Aztecs 23-17 in overtime before a record home crowd of over 30,000— their largest since 2008. Despite a 9-3 season record and a tie at the top, the team will not play in the conference championship because computer metrics favored another matchup.  New Mexico Daily Lobo
