- ➤ On Nov. 8, the New Mexico Local News Fund released its 2025 report that shows two-thirds of residents face barriers to trustworthy local news. The report found that 90% of outlets have fewer than 10 full-time staff + 75% have fewer than five, underscoring challenges in providing local coverage. New Mexico Daily Lobo
- ➤ Students at the University of New Mexico Student Union Building built over 300 plush toys on Dec. 2 at the second Build-a-Bo event. They used free materials to craft animals (wolves, snowmen, and owls) amid festive holiday music to relieve dead week stress. New Mexico Daily Lobo

- ➤ Amber Gallup, a UNM alumna + state director of adult education, will receive the Tom L. Popejoy Dissertation Prize for her nationally recognized dissertation on healthcare apprentices at the UNM graduate commencement ceremony on Dec. 11 at University Arena. - ➤ Assistant Professor Sepideh Yasrebi of UNM’s College of Education is introducing narrative inquiry and cognitive mapping to help students link personal stories with larger historical forces. - ➤ Lobos are preparing for their game as they hope white out conditions will cool Santa Clara’s red-hot offense while Jake Hall rode his motorized scooter to the Pit on Thursday for practice. Albuquerque Journal
- ➤ On Dec. 6 at The Pit, the Lobos beat Santa Clara 98–71 as Tomislav Buljan recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds and Uriah Tenette sparked a key run — pushing the team to a four-game win streak and setting up a face-off with Virginia Commonwealth University on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
