- ➤ Local organizers held the Winter Warmup 'Gloves for Terrie' event on Sunday, distributing gift bags and food to support up to 5,000 unhoused residents - donation boxes remain at multiple locations through the holiday season to accept winter donations. KOAT
- ➤ Former Albuquerque Journal writer Patricia Kailer, 100, died on Nov. 10 from complications of Parkinson's disease. Her memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Jan. 17 at Hope Church in northeast Albuquerque - she is remembered for her skill in storytelling and warm connection with the community. - ➤ A local Christmas Carnival hosted by New Mexico Crusaders for Justice and Explorer Academy brought about 100 families together at a charter school to honor loved ones lost — the event featured table displays, games, food, and gifts with help from 17 students. KOAT
- ➤ The New Mexico Department of Transportation launched its annual snowplow naming contest for creative entries due by noon Dec. 26, while bus routes have been adjusted—route 53 now features longer waits and an eastbound lane on Rio Bravo is closed until Dec. 30 for reconstruction. - ➤ Albuquerque tree sellers have had a busy start to the Christmas season as Roybals X-Mas Trees sold about 900 trees before Thanksgiving and expects to sell 1,300 this season. Garcia Family Christmas Trees also reported increased sales boosted by more internet customers. Albuquerque Journal

- ➤ A new mural in the Rail Yards shows Albuquerque’s transportation history and honors healing from gun violence. Artist Ryan Savedra, who lost his son four years ago, hired 10 families (all affected by similar loss) to help complete the project on a historic 1800s building. KOAT
