About this event
Adult Conservatory classes are designed to meet dancers at different stages of their flamenco journey. While the curriculum progresses in technical complexity from Adult Flamenco 1 through 4, adults are not required to complete every level in sequence. Students are placed in the class that best matches their experience, technical readiness, and personal goals through instructor guidance. Adult Flamenco 2 is designed for students who have established a solid foundation in flamenco and are ready for greater technical and artistic challenges. This class is appropriate for dancers with previous flamenco experience who are comfortable with fundamental footwork, rhythm, and movement vocabulary and are looking to continue developing their skills. Each 1 ½ hour class includes both technique and repertory. Technique develops strength, coordination, speed, musicality, and movement quality, while repertory allows students to apply those skills through choreography and artistic expression. Because choreography is developed progressively throughout the year using the Conservatory's spiral learning approach, consistent attendance is encouraged to support individual growth and the success of the class as a whole. While Adult Flamenco classes increase in complexity from Levels 1 through 4, adults are placed in the class that best matches their current experience, technical readiness, and personal goals. Class placement is guided by instructor recommendation rather than a required sequence of study.
