Adult Ballet

About this event

Adult Ballet is designed specifically to support the technical development of flamenco and Spanish dance students. Rather than training students as classical ballet dancers, this class uses ballet as a companion study to strengthen the physical skills, body awareness, and movement quality that enhance flamenco technique and promote healthy, efficient movement. Open to students ages 13 and older, Adult Ballet emphasizes posture, balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, and proper body alignment. Particular attention is given to external rotation, core stability, épaulement (coordination of the head, shoulders, and torso), and movement efficiency—essential skills that improve flamenco technique while preparing dancers for specialized studies such as Bata de Cola, Escuela Bolera, and Danza Estilizada.
