EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On August 22, the Justice Department sent a memo to Congress — it stated it would not defend the Hispanic-Serving Institution designation for colleges in a lawsuit filed by Tennessee and Students for Fair Admissions. UNM and other HSI colleges, which use this status to access federal grants that support Hispanic and underrepresented students, may face challenges if the ruling leads to reduced funding.
